Janelle Heying is on staff as the Director of Student Ministry at Northminster Presbyterian Church. She started in June of 2013, fresh out of graduating from Eastern University with a degree in Youth Ministry, Psychology, and Biblical Studies. Originally the 2-Year Student Ministry Intern, in Sept of 2014 she officially became the Director of Student Ministry and loves every minute of it. She has a passion for connecting with and serving students, a love for teaching and welcoming all people into ministry with Christ, and always brings an abundance of energy, enthusiasm, love!
Pat Hasler has been an adult leader with NSM since early in 2013. He graduated from Finneytown in 2007 and lives in the area. Outside of Northminster, he works for Belcan as an engineer and also enjoys working with Whiz Kids, coaching various youth sports teams and running.
John Suer: I have been worshiping at Northminster for about 11 years. I have been on many mission trips with the church and last year I joined the high school youth to Philly. I have had a great time working with the youth off and on over the years and now have been an adult leader for the last year. I have been a Boy Scout leader for the last 10 years and have loved every minute of it. I have a 17 year old daughter Savannah and a 15 year old son Grant. I have worked for the Cincinnati Water Works for the last 27 years in Plant Operations. Some of my hobbies are Fishing, Camping and Backpacking, Woodworking, Skiing, Bicycling, and just getting together with friends and family. Also this Cowboys heart is in the Big Sky of Montana.
Dan Chambers has been an adult leader with NSM since 2014. He’s a graduate of Finneytown High School, and the University of Cincinnati. Dan loves hanging out and working with the students at NSM. Outside of the church, Dan enjoys playing basketball and tennis, singling loudly in the car, and going on adventures.
Andy Auffrey attended NSM events all throughout high school, and decided to return as an adult leader after graduating from Finneytown High School in 2014. At first, he had no desire to join the program, but one week after a friend’s attempt to kidnap Andy to a youth group meeting, he was forced by his parents to attend, and he enjoyed it and has been hooked ever since! Currently, Andy is a student at The University of Cincinnati majoring in Accounting, and enjoys leading at NSM.
Karen Kershner started working in NSM as an adult leader Spring of 2014- prior to that she worked with the Children’s Ministry, so it made perfect sense to grow with the students. Karen is married (to Jerry) and is a mother of 3 children (Cami, Kelsey and Riley) and 2 dogs (Hanna and Charlotte). She works for Procter and Gamble. Karen enjoys NSM because she likes to see the students learning and growing. She first came to the group to learn to share God with her own children, but has enjoyed expanding this to the entire group of NSM students. Karen loves being outdoors, keeping physically fit either by walking or working out, and music.
Rebecca is a senior at Lakota East High School. She is very excited to get to know all of the new middle schoolers and high schoolers coming to youth group this year! Outside of Northminster, Rebecca enjoys competitive dance and reading. She’s always willing to listen, so if you need somebody to talk to, be sure to let her know!
Weston Floro-Hagman is one of our volunteers. He is a student at Walnut Hills and his favorite restaurant is Chipotle. While many things may seem to interest him do not be deceived. His one true love is his car. He has a special place in his heart for Jaguars (the car) and is always up for discussing things about various types of cars. He also has an issues of getting attached to inanimate objects but we all know that his true love is NSM
Luke Kellett attends Finneytown HS and is a very dedicated leader.
Grant Suer has a very opinionated taste in music and will gladly entertain conversations around musical taste. He is also in boyscouts, works at skyline, and goes to school at NCH. Even though he works at skyline it still seems to be his “happy place” enjoying the sweet aroma of skyline chili. He is relatively tech savvy and if you ever need to know where to find things within the church he is your guy.
